Hi Shannon,
A few people that come to mind are Hollin Wakefield (hollin@fluentkey.com) and Mandy Sofer (mandy@fluentkey.com) from FluentKey. They are former language teachers (French and Spanish respectively I believe.)
Fluentkey uses authentic resources (videos) to create interactive assignments and live games. (Think EdPuzzle/Playposit meets Kahoot.) It focuses on language learning specifically and was created
by language teachers. The content they utilize includes movies, TV, commercials, music videos, news, documentaries, etc. All activities are leveled and can be used turnkey or customized.
This authentic content platform is perfect for teaching culture!
Best,
Loreen
