Reminder: Call for proposals! Proposal deadline: December 1, 2019.

The Midwest Association for Language Learning Technology (MWALLT) will hold its 2020 conference on February 8, 2020. This conference will be of particular interest to all current and prospective language instructors, to individuals affiliated with media centers or language labs, and to individuals interested in any facet of language learning technology. Put it on your calendar and plan to attend, whether at a host or hub campus, or online!

The keynote speaker for the conference will be Kathleen Fitzpatrick, the Director of Digital Humanities at Michigan State University and author of Generous Thinking: A Radical Approach to Saving the University. She will be speaking on the topic of “Working in Public: New Infrastructures for Better Institutions”.

To expand the reach of the conference, we invite participants to attend a regional host or hub, where they can engage with local attendees as well as virtually with attendees at the other sites. Four campuses will serve as "hosts" for the conference: the University of Iowa, the University of Kansas, Michigan State University, and the University of Minnesota. Presenters will be asked to attend one of these locations in person.

In addition, we are inviting other locations to serve as "hubs" to provide access and a place to meet for regional attendees. While the conference will allow individual remote attendees to ask questions and participate in discussions, the receiving “hubs” are designed to provide a networking opportunity for those unable to attend the conference at one of the host sites. See the hub proposal form below for more details on becoming a hub campus. Currently, the University of Chicago and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee are hub sites for the conference.  Others may be announced in the weeks preceding the conference.

Proposal formats:
