SUMMARY
The University of Michigan Language Resource Center (LRC) seeks an instructional technology expert who is a creative, user-centered, energetic individual to provide leadership, vision and technical expertise/support to the development and implementation of strategies for the use of technology in enhancing instructional activities for University of Michigan foreign language, literature, and culture courses.  

Responsibilities*
Consult, advise, train language faculty on development and implementation of technology-enabled learning objects and activities
Hands-on design, development and integration of media in instructional contexts
Manage project development, implementation and assessment; coordinating faculty, graduate students, staff, software, facilities, technology resources
Provide training and curricular support to faculty and students engaged in videoconferencing activities, including LRC coordination of BIG10 Academic Alliance CourseShare. Manage and coordinate a small fleet of videoconferencing equipment (6 units), in collaboration with campus IT departments
Evaluate and recommend software, hardware, audio/visual equipment, and peripherals for incorporation into media lab
Participate in campus-wide instructional technology collaborations and programming, disseminating information and developing best practice standards

Required Qualifications*
Bachelor’s degree and 2 to 3 years work experience in instructional technology, instructional design, information science, or related field.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following: experience with and understanding of foreign language pedagogy; the ability to learn, adapt and evolve with technology and pedagogy; the ability to analyze and align technology solutions with instructional needs, current educational and technological trends, as well as departmental, college and campus-wide goals/priorities and campus infrastructure; the ability to work in both Mac and Windows-based environments; general knowledge of copyright issues in the realm of education; leadership, delegation and direction of a team consisting of faculty, students and staff; able to work productively under pressure with multiple priorities; excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively with people at varying levels of computer literacy; and the ability to establish collaborative working relationships at all levels of the University is required.

Your technical expertise should include proficiency in a combination of several of the following areas: website development, presentation software, course management system(s), audio/video/media production, digitization and manipulation, collaboration and/or social networking technologies, online and/or distance learning, database design, simple coding/programming (HTML, javascript), mobile technologies.
